Cally Bartlett

  • Cally Bartlett is a composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist living and working in Bendigo, Victoria. She began studying Cello at the age of 8 and soon after started learning Bassoon and Piano. She has an AmusA diploma in Cello Performance and studied Cello Performance with Zoe Knighton while completing a Bachelor of Music at the University of Melbourne, where she also completed a Bachelor of Teaching with Honours. Soon after completing her university studies Cally moved to Central Victoria and has worked as a performer and educator in the area for more than 15 years.


    As an educator she has taught Strings, Classroom Music and General Primary at Girton Grammar School since 2007. Cally currently leads the String department at the school, as well as working in the Junior School as a classroom teacher. 


    Cally has always had a keen interest in music theory and arranging and completed AMEB Grade 6 Music Theory while in Year 10 at school. She has been arranging music for the Forever Young Rock Choir in Bendigo since its inception in 2011. Through this choir, Cally has arranged music and worked with Normie Rowe, Wilbur Wilde, Mark Seymour, Kate Ceberano and Grace Knight.


    Cally works with a number of community music groups in Bendigo and is passionate about community music. She is currently the Music Director of the City of Greater Bendigo Brass Band, Principal Viola with the Bendigo Symphony Orchestra and has worked with the Bendigo Theatre Company as an orchestra member and musical director on a number of shows.
