Robert is a Trumpet player with the Bendigo Symphony Orchestra.
Learning Cornet as a child with the Maldon Brass Band under the tutorage of Denis Cox, Robert commenced his brass journey in 2001. During his high school years, under the tutorage of Harry Hood and Pip Avent, Robert undertook learning the Trumpet performing with the Castlemaine Secondary College Big Band, Orchestra and Concert Bands. It was during this time that he commenced playing Cornet with the Thompson's Foundry Band in Castlemaine.
Robert has competed insterstate at the Mount Gambier Blue Lake Brass Festival on a number of occassions with the Maryborough City Brass Band. He also perfomed with the Maryborough Big Band at the Halls Gap and Castlemaine Jazz Festivals. With the Thompson's Foundry Band, Robert competed at the Royal South Street competitions playing Soprano Cornet, as well as performing at the Castlemaine State Festival.
